      Alaska Talking Book Center

      Although the Anchorage location has closed, Alaska’s Talking Book Center is still available for Alaska residents.

      • This service still provides equipment and audio content free of charge for eligible Alaskans, including shipping both ways.  It’s a great service for those who have difficulty reading print.  Even if your library provides large print and audiobooks, we provide some additional benefits:

        • There’s a huge catalog, including Alaska-related books and magazines

        • With large buttons and a fairly simple interface, these special machines may be easier for people with visual impairments or other physical disabilities to use

      • Applications and general questions should still be directed to the Alaska Talking Book Center. Ongoing service is provided through the Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled.
